Programs of Study
August London High School's academic departments provide students with excellent preparation for college and life beyond the classroom.
The school offers courses at three levels of instruction: Advanced Placement (AP), Honors (H), and College Preparatory (CP). Placement into these levels is determined by various evaluative criteria, including previous academic performance, standardized test results, and teacher recommendations. Parent and student input is also considered in the annual development of each student's personal learning plan. For Advanced Placement courses, students enroll based on invitation from the instructor and academic department. The school reserves the right to make professional assessments and decisions about student placement within these levels by academic discipline.
Our curriculum is designed to challenge students at appropriate levels, fostering academic growth and intellectual curiosity. We strive to create an environment where students can explore their interests, develop critical thinking skills, and build a strong foundation for future academic pursuits. Through this tiered approach, we aim to meet the diverse needs of our student body, ensuring that each student is appropriately challenged and supported in their academic journey.
